Aim Little is known about the pathophysiology of low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), and evidence concerning management patients diagnosed with this condition scarce. The aim LARS Expert Advisory Panel was to develop practical guidance for healthcare professionals dealing LARS. Method ‘Management guidelines syndrome’ (MANUEL) project promoted by a team eight experts in assessment After face-to-face meeting, strategy agreed create comprehensive, guide covering all aspects that were felt be clinically relevant. Eight themes decided upon working groups established. Each group generated draft; these collated another collaborator into manuscript, after conference call. This circulated among collaborators, it revised following comments received. Given lack sound often poor quality studies, most recommendations conclusions are based on opinions experts.
